Interviewing and hiring for a Maintenance Mechanic for a manufacturing production facility located near downtown Omaha.
Pay: $25-34/hr + $1.50/hr shift Differential
Shift: Sun-Thurs 10:30pm-7am ***MANDATORY 8-10 OT/ weekly
JOB DESCRIPTION
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- Maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic plant equipment; troubleshoot machinery issues.
- Perform machinery setups and changeovers; ensure accuracy of standard operating procedures.
- Reduce downtime for assigned production lines; manage equipment maintenance and track preventative activities.
- Address and report safety issues; ensure proper lockout/tagout procedures.
- Maintain and repair low voltage photo-eyes, sensors, proximity switches, and control circuits; assist with machinery installation.
- Maintain and repair pumps, valves, meters, gauges, and piping; keep work areas clean.
- Contribute to continuous improvement; apply lean manufacturing tools.
- Communicate openly with supervisors; adhere to company policies and safety standards.
- Exhibit regular attendance and punctuality.
**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Coordinate multiple projects; strong mechanical skills; interpret technical instructions and diagrams.
- Learn and operate all equipment in the assigned zone; perform basic math for problem-solving.
- Proficient in PC use, spreadsheets, and reporting software; wear required PPE.
- Follow instructions and complete documentation; troubleshoot and prioritize effectively.
- Communicate clearly and professionally; pursue skill development and high-quality work.
- Use resources efficiently; make sound decisions; work safely and cooperatively.
**Minimum Experience, Education, and Certifications**
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience demonstrating required skills.
**Physical Demands**
- Stationary observation; lift up to 65 pounds; manipulate items up to 35 pounds.
- Access lower and elevated workspaces; operate hand tools; perceive normal sounds.
- Move throughout the facility; perform work in varying environmental conditions, including high noise levels and temperature changes.
