Overview of the Assistant Underwriter
 
Cornerstone Staffing is partnered with a financial stable & growing insurance company who is adding to their Underwriting Department.  The Assistant Underwriter will evaluate risk for Commercial Auto, Commercial Property, & General Liability policies.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Underwriter

• Review and record new business submissions in queue, assigning risks to the appropriate underwriter based on territory, agency, and other factors
• Verify risk classification and enter data into rating software for underwriter review
• Analyze inspection reports, MVRs, loss data, audits, and other information to assess risk and suggest improvements or terminations to Underwriters
• Communicate with Underwriters and Agents to provide quotes, instructions, gather supplemental information, and ensure necessary forms are signed

Qualifications for the Assistant Underwriter

• High school diploma & 2 years of college coursework
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Math aptitude
• Computer savvy and investigation/research abilities
• Analytical abilities
• Attention to detail
• Research skills
• Time-management

Schedule of the Assistant Underwriter

• M-F, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  Some flexibility on start/end time, at manager's discretion
• Hybrid schedule includes 2 days in office and 3 days at home.  Schedule Flips weekly
• Training would be 100% in person but then transition to a Hybrid work model. 

Compensation of the Assistant Underwriter

• $22/hr.
