Job Title - Machine Operative
Site location - St Helens
Responsible to - Production Manager 
Purpose of the role - Our client in St Helens is currently recruiting for machine operators to join their established team on temporary to permeant contracts. 
Client brief - Our client is a large well renowned family-owned business in Manufacturing products based in St Helens and supply the retail trade and builders merchants across the UK.

KEY INFORMATION

Reason for vacancy - Increased demand
Contract - Temp to perm
Hourly Rate - £12.21ph 
Shifts - Monday to Friday days only, 8am-5.30pm
Holidays - Holiday accrual
Facilities - Fantastic facilities on site, very clean and tidy office environment, kitchen/canteen, vending machines, free parking

RESPONSIBILITIES

The role - The responsibilities of these positions are varied but not limited to 

• Operating Wood Turning Machinery within health and safety guidelines at all times 
• Loading and unloading the machines with raw material and finished product 
• Quality Checking/Spot Checking products to ensure they meet site and client quality standards 
• Reporting machine and product faults to management 
• Ensuring the machinery and production areas are kept safe and clear of debris 

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED 

• Previous machine operating experience preferably in a wood turning or metal manufacturing environment 
• Previous experience setting or programming production machinery is highly advantageous but not essential 
• Ability to read technical drawings is highly advantageous but not essential 
• Ability to follow instructions and read and write in English is essential
• Interest in developing technical ability and desire to progress is essential in these roles
