LEAD INFORMATION     

Job Title – Purchasing / Stock Controller
Site location – St Helens
Responsible to - The position reports into the Office Manager and liaises closely with all departments in the business.
Purpose of the role – As a purchasing / stock controller you will be responsible for ensuring the purchase ledger reflects accurate and up-to-date records of the liabilities the company whilst maintaining levels of stock at all times.

Client brief – Our client is a large well renowned family-owned business in Manufacturing products based in St Helens and supply retail, trade and builders merchant sectors across the UK       

KEY INFORMATION     

Reason for vacancy – Continued growth
Contract – Permanent
Salary - £25,000 - £27,000 per annum (depending on experience)   
Hours of Work – Monday to Friday only, 8.30am – 5.00pm
Holidays – 28 days inc Bank Holidays

RESPONSIBILITIES     

The role - Our client is looking for an Purchasing / Stock Controller to support their existing team in their HQ facility in St Helens. The day-to-day duties of this role are varied as is a multi-departmental position though not limited to –

Key responsibilities:

• Monitor stock levels and raise purchase orders as required
• Liaise with internal departments and suppliers regarding lead-times, costings, specifications, deliveries and quality issues
• Providing general operations support within the purchasing department
• Receipting materials and processing material movements throughout the business
• Obtain quotes from suppliers
• Supporting month and year end processes ensuring deadlines are met
• High volume invoice processing
• Investigate and resolve invoice queries in a timely manner
• Ensure any supplier account queries are dealt with to a consistently high standard
• Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal operations
• Ensure that the purchase ledger payment runs are in-line with supplier terms

 
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED 
 

• Excellent excel skills required for manipulating data
• Good understanding of inventory management principles and best practices, and experience in supply chain data analysis.
• Excellent organization and time management skills are essential, as well as good communication, collaboration, and negotiation abilities.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and actively participate in inventory audits.
• Proficiency in MS Office is required, and the ability to maintain and update purchase and pricing reports is a must.
