Client brief: Our client is a specialist supplier of engineering design and manufacture services for a diverse range of industries worldwide.
KEY INFORMATION
Reason for vacancy: Current H&S Manager has retired
Contract: Permanent
Basic pay: Negotiable
Shifts: Monday to Thursday 8am-4.30pm, Fridays 8am-12.30pm
Breaks: 15-minute morning break, half hour lunch break
Holidays: 21 + Bank Holidays

RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities: The main tasks of this role include, but are not limited to:
● Update and manage the integrated management systems ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, in addition communicate with external auditors for compliance in relation to achieving ISO standards, for site. Regularly review, conduct and update internal audits and produce synopsis for the integrated management system
● Review and update the organisations policies in line with the legislation and changes (H&S policy, integrated policy, health policy, supplier lists, schedule of records, audit reports internal & external)
● Responsibility for reviewing, updating, and maintaining all aspects in relation to Fire Safety, including risk assessments, fire prevention mitigation plan, prevention mitigation plan, fire/environmental emergency plans and ensuring compliance in line with regulatory guidance for site.
● Working with HR and Managers in relation to any H&S for employees, including, RTW risk assessments, health assessments, DSE assessments, PPE requirements, Air Fed Masks etc. Furthermore, conducting any injury/non-injury investigations meetings and finalising reports. Also, conducting a quarterly H&S Forums for site.
● Assisting with external bodies, including HSE, insurance representatives inc claims, representing the company and helping with any tender applications.
● Monitoring & review of the following: risk assessments including specific personnel & first aid, review of work instructions, COSHH assessments, buddy folder, manual handling, fire safety, etc.
● Carry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be reduced.
● Outline safe operational procedures which identify and consider all relevant hazards.
● Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
● Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements.
●Monitor service providers, ensuring records are up to date for Licences, Exemption and all other documentation surrounding H&S
● Produce COSHH assessments in accordance with material safety datasheets, including contractual works, method statements and evaluation of sub-contractors.
● Update and distribute display of documentation following IMS Management Meeting. Production of Objectives and targets display and produce toolbox talk. ● Report incidents to HSE, dealing with HSE site visits, enquiries.
● Adhoc duties as and when required by the director
Shift duration per day: 8.5 hours
ESSENTIAL SKILLS Experience:
