Overview
We are looking for a General Medicine Registrar to join a regional hospital team. This role is perfect for a doctor seeking broad clinical exposure in internal medicine within a supportive rural setting. You will manage a variety of acute and chronic conditions under the guidance of a Consultant Physician.
Key Responsibilities
- Inpatient Management: Lead daily ward rounds for medical patients, ensuring high-quality care and timely discharge planning.
- Admissions: Review and admit patients from the Emergency Department with complex medical needs.
- Clinical Leadership: Act as a point of contact for Interns and RMOs, providing clinical supervision and troubleshooting ward issues.
- Multidisciplinary Care: Liaise with nursing, allied health, and specialist teams (e.g., Cardiology, Geriatrics) to coordinate patient recovery.
Selection Criteria - Registration: Full AHPRA General Registration.
- Experience: Minimum PGY5+ level with strong foundations in Internal Medicine.
- Certifications: Valid ALS2 is highly preferred for managing deteriorating patients on the ward.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for rural patient advocacy and family conferencing.
