One Tech Engineering is searching for a Category Manager for a position located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Category Manager will support the DSM (Demand-Side Management), Marketing, and Corporate Services teams by executing contract amendments, negotiating terms, and managing low-spend contracts primarily within the Property Services category.

The candidate must be a US citizen or hold a green card. The candidate should have at least three years of experience in a large, matrixed corporate organization with strong experience in contract negotiation, amendments, and execution processes.

Category Manager Responsibilities:

• Execute amendments and route them for signatures and approvals within the Coupa system.
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with internal procedures.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions for smaller-scale vendor contracts.
• Manage low-spend contracts specifically within the Property Services workspace.
• Provide assistance to the existing category management team.
• Address smaller-scale procurement events to allow the team to focus on enterprise-wide, high-value initiatives.
• Manage amendments to existing contracts, including extensions, budget increases, or other minor changes.
  
• Lead the development and implementation of category strategy to optimize cost and improve operations.
• Apply best practice approaches to multiple critical categories.
• Conduct analyses of supply, demand, market, commodity, supplier, contract, and “should cost” modeling to determine category strategies.
• Monitor industry information and trends, and supplier risk profiles, to keep category strategy current while supporting business requirements.
• Develop complex sourcing events and qualify, evaluate, and select suppliers for targeted categories of spend.
• Develop plans with suppliers that support business goals and strategies and drive continuous improvement and collaboration to bring value to both the company and the supplier.
• Develop performance-based scorecards and monitor, document, and evaluate supplier performance.
• Lead the resolution of disputes with suppliers.
• Lead negotiations to establish contracts that support category strategies while meeting business area requirements.
• Review, analyze, verify, and negotiate contract changes or additional work orders.
• Manage contractor claims to resolution and successfully minimize the overall impact to cost and schedule.
• Ensure suppliers comply with contract terms and meet all commitments.
• Apply understanding of underlying principles of contract law to administer all category contract agreements.
• In collaboration with business area management, manages and defines the risk elements of the contract and assembles all necessary documentation for obtaining insurance.
• Limit company liability by ensuring all required documents and notices have been obtained and are satisfactory.
• Manage the completion of supplier, business, and supply chain continuous improvement efforts.

• At least three years of experience in a large, matrixed corporate organization with strong experience in contract negotiation, amendments, and execution processes
• A business degree would be preferred.
• Familiarity with corporate procurement and supply chain practices, including knowledge of sourcing strategies and vendor relationship management.
• Proficiency with Coupa.
  
• Advanced skills in Excel for analyzing data, tracking contracts, and supporting procurement activities.
• Familiarity with SAP for additional exposure to supply chain and financial systems is a bonus.
• Previous utility experience would be nice.
• Strong attention to detail, and critical thinking.
