One Tech Engineering is searching for a Project Controls Specialist for a position located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Project Controls Specialist will assist project managers with forecasting and managing accruals to ensure accurate financial tracking.

The candidate must be a US citizen or hold a green card. The candidate should have 8-10 years of experience in project controls or accounting within the construction, utilities, or renewables industry.
  
Project Controls Specialist Responsibilities:  

• Participate in budgeting activities, particularly in the SPS region, to ensure projects stay within budgetary constraints.
• Ensure that the project portfolio meets budgetary requirements throughout the year.
• Provide support to project managers on their individual projects, including collecting information on forecasts and accruals from vendors and submitting accruals.
• Collect information on forecasts and accruals from vendors and other sources.
• Continuously monitor the project portfolio to ensure it meets budgetary requirements throughout the year.
• Prepare and submit reports on financial status and budget adherence.
• Attend regular meetings with project managers and other stakeholders to discuss project progress and financial status.
• Communicate with vendors to gather necessary financial information and ensure timely submission of accruals.
• Address any financial discrepancies or issues that arise, making recommendations to keep projects on track.

• 8-10 years of experience in project controls or accounting within the construction, utilities, or renewables industries.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial tracking.
• Experience with SAP ECC and EPM (budgeting tool/Oracle) or similar technologies for financial management and budgeting.
• A solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Good understanding of accruals and their impact on projects, as well as the ability to gather and analyze forecasts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
