One Tech Engineering is searching for a Designer for a position located in Edina, Minnesota. The Designer will collaborate with the engineering group to design and upgrade distribution systems for solar connections.
 
The candidate must be a US citizen or hold a green card. The candidate should have previous construction, engineering, mapping, or field staking experience.
 
Designer Responsibilities:  

• Conduct site visits, research maps, and create upgrade plans using GIS to develop detailed designs.
• Provide cost estimates for the required upgrades to support the engineering team's project planning and implementation.
• Create, update, and revise sketches, working drawings and contract documents using GIS software or manual means of drafting to meet customer requirements.
• Prepares 2D and 3D models.
• Read and comprehend detailed customer requirements, data sheets and supplier specifications.
• Prepares documentation to support design drawings.
• Prepare bills of material, and schedules, and assist engineering personnel with formal drawing transmittals and construction issues.

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Previous construction, engineering, mapping, or field staking background.
• Utility design experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of GIS or SAP is nice to have.
• Good communication skills.
