One Tech Engineering is searching for a Purchaser Assistant for a position located in Wallingford, Connecticut. The Purchaser Assistant will be responsible to assist with purchasing responsibilities throughout the project life cycle which includes ordering materials, supplies and equipment, and follow through with vendors on shipment and delivery.
The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Law, or Construction related field.
Local candidates preferred or open to relocation. This is not a remote position.
Purchaser Assistant Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of procurement documents and agreements for the materials needed to execute the project deliverables.
Assist in vendor bid evaluations of proposals and technical evaluations.
Prepare purchase order documents and submit purchase order information into online purchasing application for final approval.
Submit purchase orders to vendors/subcontractors, obtain and log order acknowledgment.
Assist in expediting vendor submittals to support detailed design and delivery of equipment and materials to support construction activities.
Assist in preparing procurement status reports and expediting reports.
Assist in sourcing and qualifying potential suppliers to provide required goods of service.
Assis in preparing procurement packages to engineering and project specifications.
Verify supplier pricing, quantity, reliability and industry experience.
Assist with compiling "Request for Proposal" (RFP) documents including documents, drawings and specifications.
Research pricing information, compare prices and quotations.
Compile and present cost comparison and analysis.
Assist with Project Procurement Status Material Status Reports.
Requirements of thePurchaser Assistant:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Law or Construction related field.
Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Previous internship and/or related consulting experience
Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
Oracle Financial R12 software experience is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem solving skills.
