About the role
Reporting to the Director, this is a full-time permanent role working 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday. Supporting two retail companies, you will be responsible for a broad range of bookkeeping and administrative functions including:

• Daily bank account balancing and reconciliations
• Accounts payable and receivable, including supplier management
• Weekly payroll processing for approximately 11 staff across two companies
• Weekly superannuation processing in line with current legislative requirements
• Subcontractor payments (weekly) across both companies
• Invoicing, debtors, and creditors management
• Statutory compliance including WorkCover and BAS/GST obligations
• Job costing (training provided — but a willingness to learn is essential)
• Liaising with reception staff across Adelaide and Melbourne offices
• General bookkeeping and administrative duties as required

Skills and experience

• Solid bookkeeping experience, ideally gained within a small business environment
• Strong working knowledge of MYOB — this is essential; candidates who have used Xero and can demonstrate a fast ability to learn will also be considered
• Understanding of payroll, superannuation, and statutory compliance obligations
• Experience with job costing is advantageous but not required — training will be provided
• High attention to detail with a proactive, think-ahead approach
• Strong communicator who can confidently manage upward and push back when needed
• Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Able to work both autonomously and collaboratively with interstate colleagues
