As the business continues to evolve, so do the opportunities within it. We are now seeking a hands-on, reliable, and proactive Maintenance Officer to join the Commercial & Industrial team in a newly created role.

About the Role
Everyone knows Burnside Village — but did you know the Cohen Group also manages a diverse portfolio of quality industrial and commercial sites in the CBD and across Adelaide? This is a practical, fast-paced role where no two days are the same. Reporting to the Property General Manager – Commercial & Industrial, you’ll be responsible for delivering programmed and ad- hoc maintenance across a range of properties located in Adelaide, Wingfield, Port Adelaide, Keswick and more.

You’ll start by shadowing an experienced long-standing team member, learning the ropes and getting to know the properties, processes, and key tenants. Supporting the upkeep and presentation of key properties, many with future development or upgrade plans while keeping things running smoothly and contributing to longer-term improvements

Tasks and duties 

• General maintenance across multiple properties including gardening, pressure cleaning, minor repairs, and tidying common areas
• Responding to maintenance requests and completing maintenance reports
• Supporting presentation standards across sites — cleaning gutters, graffiti removal, minor paintwork, and lighting repairs
• Working closely with tenants and contractors, maintaining strong relationships and great customer service
• Coordinating access and providing assistance to external trades and contractors as needed
• Undertaking basic safety inspections and reporting hazards or risks promptly
• Preventative maintenance tasks
• Tracking time and jobs via portal system and contributing to system improvements
• Supporting small upgrade and improvement projects as part of site transition and development planning
• Completing all maintenance jobs in line with internal service levels

  
  
Skills and experience

• A background in maintenance (commercial, industrial, retail or similar)
• Trade qualifications are great although not essential — a hands-on, common-sense approach matters more
• Drivers Licence is essential
• Proficient in operating company equipment including trailers, elevated work platforms, and general hand power tools (specific licences will be required for EWP use, working at heights and white card – not essential but will be looked on favourably) Ideally 5+ years of relevant experience
• Confident working independently and managing time across multiple properties
• Comfortable with tech – basic computer skills for logging jobs and tracking time
• A professional, friendly manner – you're representing the company and dealing with tenants
• Physically capable, reliable and enthusiastic – someone with a bit of energy!
