We are recruiting on behalf of a not-for-profit broadcast television channel that produces educational, multicultural, and community-driven content. This organisation also partners with businesses to deliver advertising content and health promotion campaigns, both on air and across digital platforms.
About the Role
We're seeking a talented Content Creator to lead the development of creative and high-quality video and digital content across multiple platforms. You'll take charge of community storytelling, promotional campaigns, and content strategy—helping bring inspiring stories to life on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and beyond.
You’ll work closely with a dynamic team to capture, edit, and produce compelling video content that resonates with diverse communities across Australia. This role involves in-studio and on-site content production, scriptwriting, presenting, and collaborating with various stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities
In the role of a Content Creator, versatility will be your strength, and you'll be equally comfortable working out in the field or within the confines of the studio. Your capabilities will extend to project management, overseeing freelancers and client interactions—whether you're operating as a solo videographer or an integral part of a larger team. Your expertise will encompass the creation of exceptional content and the coordination of crew logistics and video workflow. Rather than emphasising technical wizardry, we focus on discovering a skilled storyteller with a firm technical and theoretical foundation. This foundation, however, takes a back seat to the quality of the creative concept and its execution. A background in journalism, content creation, and hands-on experience in media production will be greatly appreciated in this role.
- Conceptualise and produce video content for a variety of platforms.
- Plan, film, and edit engaging videos to tell stories and showcase the organisation's services and the communities.
- Research, write, record, photograph, film, or produce compelling content for our website, social media platforms, newsletters, and other communication channels.
- Write compelling scripts that meet guidelines and target audience needs.
- Planned, shot, and edited videos using industry-standard equipment and software.
- Incorporate creativity into every aspect of the content production process, from ideation to execution, ensuring the final output is engaging and unique.
- You will be responsible for visiting various communities, establishments, and organisations, and creating exciting and informative videos or stories about them.
- Passion for performing and being in front of the camera.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices and recommend new and innovative ways to approach video production.
Your typical week will include, but not be limited to: - Planning and Research: Research current trends, news, stories and topics relevant to the brand and communities
- Content Ideation: Brainstorm new content ideas based on your research.
- Content Creation: This is when you'd dedicate time to creating your content. This could mean filming in the field or studio or editing videos.
- Editing and Polishing: Refining and editing. Including optimising graphics and motion.
- Scheduling and Publishing: Schedule the content for release.
- Networking and Collaboration: Reach out to potential collaborators, partners and individuals. Networking is crucial in content creation and can lead to more story opportunities.
About you - Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Film, Video Production, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in digital content production.
- Strong understanding of video production, including scripting, shooting, editing, and post-production.
- Solid understanding of the content production process and delivery.
- Proficient in video editing software such as Adobe Photoshop & Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Avid, and After Effects for motion graphics.
- Understanding of live studio production and workflow
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
