We're seeking an experienced Couple & Family Counsellor to join the new Medicare Mental Health Hub in Tamworth.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative partnership between Relationships Australia NSW, Grand Pacific Health and Odyssey House, delivering integrated mental health support through a "no wrong door" approach. The Hub brings together clinical, peer and community expertise to provide coordinated, person-centered care for people experiencing mental health challenges.

About the Role

As a Couple & Family Counsellor, you'll provide therapeutic support to individuals, couples and families, helping clients strengthen relationships, improve wellbeing and navigate complex mental health challenges.

You'll work within a multidisciplinary team, providing counselling, assessment, care coordination and recovery planning while contributing specialist family systems expertise. 

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver counselling to individuals, couples and families
• Conduct intake, psychosocial and risk assessments
• Develop recovery and wellbeing plans with clients
• Provide care coordination and service navigation
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Apply family systems and evidence-based therapeutic approaches
• Maintain professional documentation and participate in supervision

What You'll Bring

• Qualifications in Counselling, Counselling & Psychotherapy, Relationship Counselling, or Couple & Family Counselling
• Eligibility for registration with AHPRA, AASW, PACFA or ACA
• Minimum 100 hours of clinically supervised counselling experience
• Experience working with couples and families using a family systems framework
• Understanding of mental health, family violence, child protection and addiction
• Commitment to culturally safe, trauma-informed practice

The Detail

• 12-month maximum term contract
• Located in Tamworth
• Approx. $50-$56 per hour + 12% superannuation
• 17.5% leave loading
