We’re excited to introduce a new Couple and Family Counsellor – Mental Health role. This opportunity is ideal for a qualified clinician who values relationship‑centred, person‑focused care and enjoys working collaboratively to support individuals, couples and families experiencing mental health challenges.

Why this role?
This is a chance to be part of a new and purpose‑driven service, contributing to the development of integrated, relationship‑based mental health care within an evolving Hub model. The Hub operates as a no wrong door entry point, enabling adults and their families to access information, support and services that strengthen psychological and physical health and social and emotional wellbeing.

You’ll work in a person‑centred, multidisciplinary environment that brings together clinical, peer, cultural and community expertise to deliver coordinated, relationship‑focused care. The role sits within a shared practice framework that supports collaboration, learning and consistency of care, with service delivery supported by Grand Pacific Health, Relationships Australia NSW (RANSW) and Odyssey House.

This role offers variety, strong professional support and genuine collaboration, while allowing you to apply and further develop your expertise in couple and family work within a broader mental health context.

What you’ll do 

• Deliver high-quality therapy to individuals, couples and families (in-person, online and phone) 
• Partner with clients as a Care/Wellbeing Navigator to develop and maintain shared mental health and recovery plans
• Conduct intake, psychosocial and risk assessments, including safety planning
• Provide care coordination, case management and group work and shared intake coverage
• Apply family systems and evidence‑based frameworks, collaborate with multidisciplinary practitioners, and maintain quality documentation, supervision and professional development

The details 

• 24-month maximum term contract
• Full time position
• Starting in mid-June 2026  
• Location: Tuggerah, close to train station
• Approx $48 – $54 per hour (depending on skills and experience) + 12% superannuation, 17.5% leave loading, salary packaging to reduce your taxable income, and other benefits 

What you’ll bring 

• Qualifications in Counselling, Counselling & Psychotherapy, Relationship Counselling or Couple & Family Counselling
• Eligibility for PACFA, ACA (Level 3 or 4), AASW, or Psychologist registration 
• Minimum 100 hours of clinically supervised counselling experience 
• Experience working with couples and families within a strong family systems framework 
• Understanding of mental health, family violence, child protection and addiction 
• A warm, culturally safe, trauma-informed approach 
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting
