What you'll do

The Program Support Worker, Child Contact Services (CCS) provides short-term, trauma-informed, and strengths-based support to children, parents, and extended family members accessing the service. You'll facilitate safe, child-focused visits between children and their parent or carer, often in complex or high-conflict situations.

Working collaboratively with the CCS team and external providers, you’ll also contribute to program development and promote the service to potential clients and stakeholders, ensuring a person-centred approach throughout. You'll:

• Facilitate the safe and conflict free transfer of children and young people and their parent/carer (e.g initiating and sustaining play activities)
• Elicit, model and foster appropriate parenting behaviours and interactions between children (and young people) and their parents/carers
• Provide adequate and consistent supervision of service users
• Participate in team meetings, supervision, debriefing and training as required
• Provide adequate and consistent supervision of service users

The details:

• Permanent role based in Gosford
• 3/4 days a week  
• Available to work Saturday's

What you'll bring:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in human services (e.g. social work, psychology) are desirable
• Strong understanding of child and youth development, including age-appropriate activities and emotional needs
• Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviours,
• Awareness of cultural issues and the impact of family conflict, with skills in conflict resolution
