About the role  
As our Therapeutic Caseworker, you’ll work closely with young people aged 17 to 24 who are transitioning from Out of Home Care (OOHC) to independent living. You’ll walk beside our clients, empowering them through education, therapeutic support, practical assistance and connection to other support services. You will engage in strengths-based and trauma-informed casework that promotes healing, skill development, emotional regulation, and long-term wellbeing for our clients. You’ll:  

• Engage with clients regularly, including through outreach and face-to-face meetings 
• Deliver intensive, person-led case management, including assessment, case planning and regular review 
• Provide therapeutic support and intervention strategies tailored to each young person’s emotional and developmental needs 
• Build trusting relationships with care leavers and provide consistent outreach and engagement 
• Support young people with record retrieval and provide supported file reading as required 
• Provide consultation and resources to OOHC providers to ensure each care leaver leaving care has an appropriate and workable leaving care plan 

The details  

• 4 days per week based at Gosford   
• 6-month part-time contract with potential for extension

What you’ll bring  

• Tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in Psychology, Behavioural Sciences or equivalent   
• Experience providing therapeutic casework or direct client support to young people with complex needs 
• Understanding of trauma-informed and strengths-based frameworks 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• High attention to detail in documentation, record keeping and reporting 
• High emotional intelligence with the ability to navigate emotionally charged situations with empathy while maintaining professional boundaries  
• Technologically adept with the ability to navigate multiple programs including Microsoft Suite and CRM Systems
