The Opportunity

An outstanding opportunity has become available to join a highly respected global leader in advanced microscopy and imaging solutions.
Known for its innovative technology, exceptional product quality and strong reputation across scientific, research, clinical and industrial markets, this organisation supports customers undertaking some of the most complex and important work across Australia and New Zealand.

This is a senior individual contributor position designed for a recognised technical expert who can provide high-level support for sophisticated microscopy solutions while helping to shape and strengthen application-support capabilities across ANZ.

This is not a traditional applications-support role. You will combine deep technical expertise with commercial awareness, strategic influence and process improvement, playing an important role in major opportunities, tenders, key accounts and customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level applications and technical support across advanced microscopy and imaging solutions
• Partner with customers to understand complex scientific, workflow and imaging requirements
• Support product demonstrations, evaluations, installations and advanced user training
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to key research, clinical, academic and industrial customers
• Contribute technical expertise to strategic opportunities, tenders and major account proposals
• Support commercial decisions relating to solution design, product positioning and pricing
• Work closely with sales, service, product and marketing teams across Australia, New Zealand and the wider global business
• Develop scalable and consistent application-support processes across the ANZ region
• Identify opportunities to improve customer experience, internal capability and operational efficiency
• Build strong relationships with key opinion leaders and influential stakeholders within the microscopy community

About You
You will be an accomplished scientific-instrumentation professional with strong technical knowledge of microscopy, imaging systems or a closely related technology.

Your experience may have been developed through applications support, technical sales, product management, field service or another customer-facing scientific role.

You will ideally bring:

• Significant experience with microscopy, imaging systems or sophisticated scientific instrumentation
• Strong technical credibility and the ability to become a trusted advisor to experienced scientific customers
• Experience supporting complex technical solutions, demonstrations, installations or customer training
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of how technical expertise contributes to sales outcomes
• Exposure to tenders, major proposals, strategic accounts or complex purchasing processes
• Strong ownership and the confidence to operate autonomously in a senior individual contributor capacity
• Excellent cross-functional stakeholder-management and influencing skills
• The ability to develop, standardise and improve technical-support processes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A relevant qualification in science, life sciences, engineering, microscopy, imaging or a related discipline

Why Join?
This is an opportunity to join a globally established organisation with an outstanding reputation for innovation, quality and technical excellence.
You will work with sophisticated technology, highly respected colleagues and leading customers while having the autonomy to influence how application support is delivered across ANZ.

The role offers:

• A senior and influential position without direct people-management responsibilities
• Exposure to advanced microscopy and imaging technologies
• The opportunity to contribute to strategically important customer projects
• Genuine scope to improve processes and build scalable capability across the region
• Collaboration with experienced local and international specialists
• A supportive, professional and customer-focused working environment
• Long-term career development within a respected global organisation
