Senior Scientist – Haematology, Transfusion & Clinical Genomics

The Opportunity

KE Select is partnering with this industry leader to appoint experienced Senior Scientists across a unique blended scope of:

• Haematology & Transfusion (hospital and laboratory-based roles) Regional areas within NSW 
• Clinical Genomics & NGS Reporting (oncology and inherited disease) Areas within Metro NSW or VIC

 
Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality testing and reporting across haematology, transfusion and/or genomics
• Perform and review complex NGS/NSG variant interpretation and reporting
• Ensure compliance with NATA, ISO15189 and NPAAC standards
• Collaborate with pathologists, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Contribute to quality improvement, workflow optimisation and service development
• Mentor junior staff and support a high-performing laboratory environment

About You
You will be an experienced Senior Scientist with expertise in either (or both):

Haematology / Transfusion:

• Proven experience in diagnostic laboratory settings
• Strong technical capability and commitment to quality outcomes

Clinical Genomics:

• Experience with NGS (WES/WGS), variant curation and clinical reporting
• Background in oncology, inherited disease or molecular diagnostics

 Essential Requirements

• Previous experience working within a commercial diagnostic laboratory (essential)
• Relevant qualifications (AIMS and/or postgraduate genomics qualifications)
• Strong understanding of laboratory quality frameworks
• A collaborative mindset and passion for patient impact
