The Role This is a key position within Borgo, sitting between senior leadership and the wider accounts team. You will take ownership of managing workflow across a portfolio of clients, distributing it to your team and ensuring all accounting, bookkeeping and tax work is completed to a high standard and on time.
You will also play a central role in supporting and developing the team, while remaining hands on from a technical perspective.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the workflow and delivery of accounting, bookkeeping and tax work across a client portfolio
Review work completed by the team to ensure accuracy and quality
Finalise accounts and ensure all jobs are completed to sign off stage
Support planning and allocation of work based on team capacity and deadlines
Train and develop team members across accounts, tax and bookkeeping
Provide technical guidance on financial statements, tax and compliance matters
Work closely with senior leadership to ensure deadlines and client expectations are met
Maintain high standards across all deliverables
Skills and Experience
Fully qualified accountant with practice experience ( ACA, ACCA) with 3 years PQE
Strong technical ability with experience finalising accounts independently
Experience preparing financial statements for companies, sole traders and partnerships
Experience preparing corporation tax and personal tax returns
Proven ability to review work and maintain high standards
Experience managing or mentoring team members
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Dext, Karbon and accounts production tools
