Network Engineer. A contract opportunity is available for a Network Engineer who will be responsible for planning, designing and implementing network infrastructure and solutions for our client's enterprise networks. This also includes troubleshooting, installing, implementing and administering these network systems and escalating incidents to lead members of the team.
 
Additional Network Engineer Responsibilities:

• Analyze capacity issues, provide input for strategic planning, business continuity and disaster recovery solutions.
• Uses processes for monitoring performance of installed systems or services and takes corrective actions when necessary. Uses tools for capacity planning, reporting, and proactive problem solving. Collaborate with other support teams troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve network problems.
• Collaborate with Lead Engineers to design and implement network systems, ensuring systems are well-engineered, and effectively integrated into the company’s various IT service offerings. Researches, analyzes, and recommends solutions to rectify any network deficiencies or to enhance network performance.
• Follows standard processes for systems/service implementation and maintenance. Provides feedback, when necessary, on those processes to the individual(s) responsible for their design.
• Implements systems/services which ensures high system availability and maximizes usage of all Information Technology resources. Ensures planned disaster recovery testing activities are performed and technical criteria are met.
• Serve as a consultant to various teams when questions arise on the best use of the various communication technologies available.   

• Bachelors Degree preferred, but not required.
• 5-7 years in Information Technology.
• 5 or more years focused on Network Services.
• Strong analytical skills with good verbal and written communication abilities.
• Skilled in network troubleshooting experience, understanding of network operation and TCP/IP, and Cisco network platforms.
• Skilled in firewall, VPN, wireless, and load balancer technologies.
• Experience with Bluecat DNS and Bluecoat Proxy solutions.
• Skilled in Fortinet and Palo Alto platforms.
• Experience with Python scripting.
• Industry certification- CCNA preferred
