We're looking for a commercially sharp, hands-on finance professional to become the financial control centre of a diverse, multi-entity Group — working directly with Directors and owning the numbers end-to-end. This sits above a traditional bookkeeping role, operating at a management and strategic level, while final sign-off on major decisions stays with the Directors.

Role Responsibilities

• Day-to-day accounting across multiple entities, including reconciliations, AP/AR, debtor management, payroll and BAS/GST compliance
• Monthly management accounts, P&L/Balance Sheet reporting, cash-flow forecasts and budget-vs-actual analysis
• Margin, cost and variance analysis, including inventory and cost-of-goods reconciliation where applicable
• Flagging financial risks and unusual transactions proactively — before management or the external accountant has to find them
• Partnering with external accountants and advisers, and strengthening internal financial controls and segregation of duties
• Improving and automating reporting processes

Required Experience

• Substantial experience in bookkeeping, management accounting or financial control across multiple entities
• Strong knowledge of Australian GST, BAS, PAYG and payroll requirements
• Excellent Xero and Excel/financial modelling skills
• Confidence to question inconsistencies and explain the numbers clearly to non-accountants
• CA/CPA/IPA highly regarded but not essential — practical capability matters just as much
• Background in wholesale, retail, ecommerce, healthcare, inventory-based or other multi-entity businesses is advantageous
