Farm & Maintenance Manager
Our client is seeking a hands-on Farm & Maintenance Manager to oversee farming operations and property maintenance across multiple regional sites. This is a highly autonomous role where you will take full ownership of day-to-day activities, balancing farm productivity with maintaining safe, well-presented properties. You’ll work closely with head office while independently managing operations, budgets, contractors, and site performance.
About the Role
You will be responsible for coordinating cattle grazing and general farm activities while ensuring each property is maintained to a high standard. The role combines practical, on-the-ground work with planning and oversight — including budgeting, cost control, compliance, and stakeholder engagement. You’ll play a key role in improving efficiency across sites, identifying opportunities to reduce costs, enhance systems (such as water use and fencing), and ensure all operations run smoothly and safely.
What You’ll Do
- Manage cattle grazing and general farm operations
- Oversee irrigation, fertiliser use, and property conditions
- Coordinate livestock sales, contractors, and suppliers
- Maintain equipment, fencing, and complete general repairs
- Manage mowing, slashing, weed control, and landscaping
- Ensure all sites are safe, compliant, and well presented
- Support budgeting, monitor costs, and track performance
- Identify efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities
- Build and manage strong stakeholder relationships
Required Travel Regular travel across: Drysdale, Connawarre, Woodend, Bendigo, Echuca, and Armstrong Creek.
What You Bring - 3+ years’ experience in farming, maintenance, or similar
- Experience with risk & compliance and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to assist with budgets and monitor financial performance
- Strong practical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites
- Current driver’s licence (heavy vehicle licence a bonus)
