Payroll Services Officer

• Location: Colac
• Hours: Fulltime Casual (Potentially 12 months)
• Pay rate: $46-$52 per hour (pending experience)

  What You'll Do:

• Payroll Services Officer will assist with fortnightly pay-run.
• Understand & comply with relevant enterprise agreement, awards, legislation, and organisational policies.
• Provide efficient and effective payroll service to employees at the shire.
• Assessing timesheets, leave applications and travel claim forms.
• Maintain shires payroll master records.
• Prepare and provide financial reports as directed.
• Assist with calculations of any payroll adjustments as required.
• Reconcile General Ledger payroll accounts.
• Accurate and timely payroll services to staff.
• Timely submission of Superannuation to specific funds.
• Ensure timesheets, effective communications and allocated finance targets achieved.
• Provide general administrative support to the business as required.

What We're Looking For

• Relevant experience working in a payroll environment.
• Detailed understanding of payroll practices and general accounting principles and practices.
• Previous experience in Local Government is highly regarded.
• The ability to interpret the current EBA, awards and payroll related legislation.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with staff across all levels of the organisation.
• Attention to detail and incredible accuracy.
• Demonstrated effective analytical, problem solving and investigative skills.
• Excellent skills in the use of spreadsheets and database financial information.
• Demonstrated time management skills
• Clear & current Police and Working with Children's Check
