About
Our client, an independent school with a privately owned bus fleet, is looking for a reliable and safety-focused Bus Driver to join their transport team. This is a casual opportunity with the potential to transition to permanent part-time for the right candidate.
  
Hourly Rate 

• $37.82 per hour

Working Hours 

• Morning shift commencing prior to 7:30am, finishing approximately 9:30–10:00am
• Afternoon shift from 2:00pm to approximately 5:00pm  

Key Responsibilities  

• Drive a school bus safely and efficiently on scheduled routes to and from school and for excursions
• Ensure safe loading and unloading of students, assisting students and teachers as required
• Promote and reinforce appropriate student behaviour to maintain passenger safety
• Assess and respond to incidents or potential emergency situations, including accidents, road hazards, or medical issues 
• Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle inspections (tyres, mirrors, gauges, wipers, etc.)
• Maintain vehicle fluid levels (oil, water, fuel) to ensure safe operation 
• Clean assigned vehicle to maintain safety, appearance, and hygiene standards
• Complete required documentation, including accident reports, incident reports, misconduct reports, and mileage logs
• Participate in meetings and training as required
• Perform other related duties to support the effective operation of the transport service

 Requirements

• Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence 
• Working With Children Check (WWCC)  
• Previous experience driving a school bus 
• Willingness to obtain a Police Check 
• Willingness to complete a medical assessment

  
Responsibility & Work Environment 

• Work under limited supervision, following established procedures and standardised practices 
• Operate within defined instructions and comply with all public road laws
• The role provides an ongoing opportunity to positively contribute to the school community and transport services
