About the Role
Our client is currently seeking a motivated and reliable Retail Assistant with hardware or tools experience to join their team in Ocean Grove. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a customer-facing environment, and has a practical understanding of hardware or trade supplies.
In addition to delivering great in-store service, the successful candidate will occasionally assist with the delivery of larger products to customers, including loading and unloading, so physical fitness and a willingness to perform manual tasks are important.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service and assist with product enquiries
• Offer knowledgeable advice on hardware, tools, and timber products
• Support with deliveries and manual handling of large or bulky items
• Unpack, stock, and merchandise products in-store
• Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming retail environment
• Operate the POS system including EFTPOS and scanning
• Work collaboratively with the team to achieve sales and service goals
• Liaise with suppliers, customers, and other locations within the business group

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a retail, hardware, or trade-related environment
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Physically fit and capable of lifting, carrying, and handling stock and deliveries
• A strong team player who can also work independently
• Basic computer and point-of-sale (POS) system knowledge
• Willingness to learn and take initiative
• Reliability and a strong work ethic

Schedule

• Tuesdays and Wednesdays
• Every second weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• 6–8 shifts per fortnight
• 8.45am -5pm
• Flexibility to work additional days during peak periods (e.g. summer)
