Positions are based at Breakwater (depot) with onsite work mostly situated in Geelong & the Surf Coast.
Quality work environment and equipment.
Main tasks:
Responsible for the fitting / maintenance of a wide variety of equipment and pipelines, pumping stations, sewer and water treatment plants, pipelines, water fleet and plant.
Assigned activities will be performed both in the workshop and in field-based environments.
Carry out Maintenance fitter duties including the use of: welding (MIG, TIG, Stick), cutting (friction, Oxy & Acetylene, and profile cutting), grinding, heat treatment and stress relieving of steels.
Responsible for the general Maintenance/installations/project work of assets and components.
Carry out unplanned (breakdown) maintenance on failed, faulty or damaged assets to achieve best practice.
Work cooperatively with other teams within the business and the external Customers of BAS..
Assist Senior/Supervisor with job planning and scheduling activities including the allocation of work to other tradespeople including contractors.
A willingness to participate in a roster system and complete overtime to respond to out of hours' operational events.
Successful candidates will have the following:
Qualification as a Fitter.
Detailed experience in machining, testing, repair and maintenance of infrastructure.
Competent in the use of computers.
Demonstrated experience of current and emerging technologies related to field maintenance services is desirable.
An understanding of environmental issues facing the company and the community.
An understanding of industrial relations issues and a commitment to EEO and OH&S practices.
HR Truck Licence.
