Technical Services Director - Telecoms & ICT

Location:  Papua New Guinea | Residential Expatriate Position

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced telecommunications leader to join an established enterprise telecoms operation in Papua New Guinea.

This senior appointment will lead the technical, pre-sales, managed-services and major-project capabilities supporting corporate, government and institutional customers. The successful candidate will combine strong telecommunications expertise with the leadership and commercial awareness required to grow new services, develop technical capability and deliver complex infrastructure solutions.

The Role
Reporting to a senior executive, you will act as the technical lead for the enterprise business and oversee a team across technical delivery, pre-sales and managed services.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the development and expansion of enterprise managed services.
• Overseeing telecommunications and digital-infrastructure projects, including fibre, mobile towers, satellite connectivity, enterprise Wi-Fi and managed networks.
• Providing technical direction across solution design, implementation and ongoing service delivery.
• Supporting major customer engagements, tenders and technical presentations.
• Introducing new telecommunications products and integrated connectivity solutions.
• Developing technical standards, service levels and project-delivery frameworks.
• Building and developing a high-performing technical and pre-sales team.
• Working closely with sales and account-management teams to translate customer requirements into practical solutions.
• Supporting the development of technical training and customer-education services.
• Contributing to the longer-term expansion of services across Pacific markets.

About You

• Senior leadership experience within telecommunications, enterprise ICT or digital infrastructure.
• Strong technical knowledge across fibre, mobile networks, satellite connectivity, enterprise networking and managed services.
• Experience delivering complex, high-value telecommunications projects.
• Previous leadership of technical, engineering, pre-sales or service-delivery teams.
• Strong customer engagement, solution-design and commercial capability.
• The ability to operate strategically while remaining close enough to the detail to resolve complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

A substantial telecommunications background is essential. Experience working in Papua New Guinea, the Pacific or another emerging market will be highly regarded.

This is a residential position based in Papua New Guinea. An attractive expatriate remuneration package and benefits will be provided.
