Business Development Manager - Mining
Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a well-established organisation in Papua New Guinea, focused on growing its presence across the mining, energy and resources sector.
This is a high-impact role for a commercially driven professional who knows how to build relationships, identify opportunities, and convert them into real business outcomes. You will be responsible for expanding existing mining sector relationships, developing new business, and growing project-based and recurring revenue across a broad and active market.
This role will suit someone who is highly proactive, well connected, comfortable travelling to regional locations, and able to work independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
The role
You will play a key role in driving business growth across the mining, energy and resources market, with a particular focus on building stronger client relationships and increasing market coverage across PNG.
Your responsibilities will include:
- developing and executing business development strategies across the mining sector
- growing existing client relationships and identifying new commercial opportunities
- increasing face-to-face engagement with decision-makers across PNG
- managing and converting project-based sales opportunities
- working closely with internal teams to deliver solutions on time and within budget
- maintaining a strong pipeline of opportunities and forecasting revenue
- staying across market activity, client needs and competitor movements
- representing the business professionally in front of senior stakeholders
About you: - proven business development and/or B2B sales experience
- strong exposure to the mining, energy, resources, industrial, or related sectors
- a proactive, energetic and results-driven approach
- the ability to build relationships quickly and influence key stakeholders
- confidence operating in a field-based, travel-heavy role
- strong commercial acumen and ability to identify growth opportunities
- the ability to work autonomously and hit the ground running
- excellent communication and relationship management skills
Candidates with experience in procurement, commercial sales, industrial supply, project sales, or related sectors with strong mining industry exposure are encouraged to apply.
