We are seeking an experienced Fleet Coordinator to oversee the daily operations, safety, and performance of a large, multi-site vehicle fleet operating across Port Moresby and the Southern Region.
This is a hands-on operational role responsible for coordinating vehicle movements, managing drivers, ensuring compliance with transport and safety standards, and maintaining fleet connectivity through transport management and GPS systems. The role works closely with senior fleet leadership and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable fleet operations at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate daily fleet operations including scheduling, dispatch, vehicle movements, and replacements
Monitor fleet activity using GPS and transport management systems to ensure compliance and efficiency
Manage vehicle maintenance, inspections, damage assessments, and preventive maintenance programs
Oversee fuel card management, driver infringements, and incident reporting
Conduct driver assessments for new hires and support driver safety initiatives
Respond to operational incidents and emergency situations involving vehicles or drivers
Prepare regular reports on fleet utilisation, vehicle movement, and performance metrics
Liaise with internal teams, service providers, and external stakeholders
Provide leadership and operational support to direct reports and contractors
About You
Minimum 5 years’ experience in fleet coordination, logistics, transport operations, or a similar role
Experience managing vehicle fleets in a corporate, logistics, or high-risk operating environment
Strong knowledge of fleet systems, GPS tracking, and reporting
Advanced Excel skills and strong capability across Microsoft Office applications
Highly organised with strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities
Confident communicator with sound interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Able to make time-critical decisions in line with safety and fleet policies
Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent (degree preferred)
Current Class 6 Driver’s Licence required
