An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Resident Manager to lead the daily operations of a busy hotel property. This role is ideal for a hands-on hospitality professional with strong leadership capability, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
About the Role The Resident Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all hotel operations, including rooms division, housekeeping, maintenance, guest services, and daily financial controls. You will act as the driving force behind service excellence, operational standards, and team development, while maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-presented environment for guests and staff.
In this leadership role, you will work closely with department heads, coach teams to deliver consistent service standards, and uphold high levels of accountability, professionalism, and guest focus. When required, you will also assume responsibility in the absence of the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day hotel operations to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.
- Lead and mentor department heads, ensuring clear expectations, service quality, and operational consistency.
- Review daily performance, financial transactions, arrivals/departures, guest reviews, and property readiness.
- Conduct daily briefings and regular departmental meetings.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, financial procedures, and safety standards.
- Build strong relationships with guests, suppliers, community stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation throughout the property.
- Manage staff rosters, performance reviews, and training initiatives.
- Execute system recovery procedures during unexpected system or plant failures.
- Uphold a strong culture of safety, integrity, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
About You We are seeking a leader who brings:
- A strong hotel background with experience in both rooms division and food & beverage.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant hospitality management experience.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business Management or related field (postgraduate preferred).
- Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.
- Strong understanding of HACCP, HSSE, and hotel operating standards.
- Proven ability to inspire teams, solve problems, and drive results.
- High attention to detail, a guest-first mindset, and professional presentation.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts as required.
