Are you a strategic HR leader ready to shape people and culture across a dynamic organisation in PNG? We're seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Human Resources to lead end-to-end HR operations, drive transformation, and embed a high-performance culture.
About the Role
As Head of HR, you'll work closely with executive leadership to align HR strategies with organisational goals. You'll lead a small, committed HR team while managing talent acquisition, employee engagement, workforce development, and compliance. Your role will be instrumental in fostering an inclusive workplace, strengthening the employee value proposition, and ensuring operational excellence.
You will act as a key advisor to senior leadership, engaging with local and regional stakeholders across HR, governance, and operations. This is a critical role with real impact - helping the business grow, change, and thrive in a uniquely challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and implement HR strategies that support business transformation and growth
Oversee recruitment, retention, talent development, and succession planning
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across the organisation
Provide leadership on employee relations, performance management, and change initiatives
Ensure compliance with local labour laws and HR best practices
Develop HR policies and programs that foster engagement, wellbeing, and growth
Represent the HR function at senior leadership level and provide board-level insights
What You'll Bring
Strong leadership background in Human Resources (corporate or regional experience preferred)
Tertiary qualifications in HR, Business, or a related field
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
Strong understanding of employment legislation and HR frameworks
Passion for people development, organisational culture, and change
Ability to balance strategic direction with hands-on operational delivery
Prior experience in PNG or developing markets is highly desirable
