HR Business Partner – Hotels Division

Are you an experienced HR professional ready to step into a high-impact leadership role? We’re seeking a dynamic HR Business Partner to oversee HR operations for a leading hotel group with properties across Papua New Guinea.
  
This role is tailor-made for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-turnover environments and wants to make a measurable difference by building culture, improving compliance, and elevating HR standards across a large workforce.
  
The Role at a Glance

• Work closely with the CEO (day-to-day) and Group HR Lead (functional reporting) to deliver HR excellence across a network of 7–8 hotels and 800+ staff.
• Manage and develop a team of Employee Services Officers (ESOs) stationed at each hotel, ensuring frontline HR operations run smoothly and consistently.
• Expect 2–3 regional trips per month to sites including Lae, Kiunga, and island/remote locations, supporting teams on the ground and driving engagement and accountability.
• Lead employee relations, policy enforcement, payroll coordination, compliance, and talent initiatives with a hands-on, practical approach.

  
Key Responsibilities

• Champion HR strategies that support operational performance and staff retention across a geographically dispersed workforce.
• Build strong relationships with Hotel GMs, providing ongoing coaching, conflict resolution, and HR guidance.
• Drive compliance and performance at remote sites through visible leadership, process discipline, and regular communication.
• Manage personnel planning, payroll, benefits, and employee services across the division.
• Deliver change management and HR initiatives aligned with organisational goals.

  
What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership/managerial capacity.
• Strong background in payroll, employee administration, and compliance.
• A natural coach and leader—able to mentor teams, drive standards, and juggle multiple competing priorities.
• Industry experience in hospitality, catering, logistics, or FIFO/camp services is highly regarded.
• Ability to build trust and credibility quickly with senior stakeholders and remote teams alike.
• A calm, organised, and structured operator who can bring consistency and direction to a diverse workforce.
