General Manager – Mining Services

We are partnering with a market leader in mining support services to appoint a commercially driven and operationally focused General Manager to lead the business through its next phase of growth.

This executive role will oversee all facets of the company’s mining services operations—including field services, maintenance, heavy equipment, and labour solutions—across multiple sites in Papua New Guinea. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, strong leadership, and the ability to build trusted partnerships with both internal stakeholders and key client mine site teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the overall direction, strategy, and performance of the mining services division.
• Drive operational excellence and ensure service delivery meets client expectations and safety standards.
• Oversee budgeting, financial management, and commercial performance.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to support contract retention and growth.
• Ensure asset utilisation, fleet management, and field support services are operating at peak efficiency.
• Develop and mentor a culturally diverse workforce, including expat and national team members.
• Contribute to business development, tendering, and contract negotiations.

• 10+ years’ experience in mining services, equipment hire, maintenance, or site support, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or GM role.
• Proven ability to lead high-performing, site-based teams in remote or developing environments.
• Commercial acumen and experience with P&L ownership.
• Strong knowledge of mining equipment and field service operations.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, with the ability to influence at all levels.
