We are seeking a Senior HR professional to lead the People and Culture function in PNG. This role is a cornerstone of organisational success, requiring a leader who can navigate the complexities of a global matrix reporting structure, drive cultural change, and implement transformative HR initiatives.
As part of the PNG Executive Leadership Team, you will shape the future of the organisation and ensure the people strategy aligns with ambitious business objectives.
What You Will Do: - Lead Strategic HR Initiatives: Align local HR strategies with a global vision, ensuring seamless integration and impactful execution.
- Drive Cultural Transformation: Foster an environment of accountability, engagement, and high performance, adapting global policies to suit local business needs.
- Champion Talent Development: Build and implement robust talent attraction, retention, and succession planning strategies, ensuring a strong leadership pipeline.
- Pioneer Digital HR & Transformation: Lead the adoption of HR technology and digital tools to enhance efficiency, learning, and self-service capabilities.
- Manage Stakeholder & Relationship Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies, recruitment partners, and NGOs.
- Ensure Compliance Excellence & Risk Management: Oversee labor law compliance, workplace relations, and risk management, ensuring ethical practices and organisational integrity.
- Lead & Develop a High-Performing Team: Directly manage the PNG People & Culture team, providing leadership, coaching, and professional development.
About You:
- A minimum of 10+ years of senior HR leadership experience, including exposure to global reporting structures.
- Strong expertise in leading cultural transformation, workforce planning, and digital HR adoption.
- Proven success in managing stakeholder relationships across diverse teams and geographies.
- Experience with PNG labor laws, compliance frameworks, and workplace relations.
- A background in industries such as FMCG, manufacturing, or other large-scale corporate environments (preferred).
- A track record of balancing local and global priorities to drive business success.

This role is based in Lae, Papua New Guinea, with regular travel to key locations. There is potential for the role to be based in Port Moresby for the right person. Flexible work arrangements may be available depending on business needs.
