Financial Controller
Location: Rabaul 
Reporting To: Group Financial Controller
 
Are you a seasoned finance professional with a passion for leadership and strategic impact? We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to manage all aspects of financial operations, compliance, and reporting within a dynamic environment. This role is critical to ensuring the organization's financial health, efficiency, and compliance.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies, including risk minimization and opportunity forecasting.
• Manage cash flow, prepare budgets, and deliver high-level financial reporting and analysis.
• Oversee all accounting operations, including billing, AR/AP, GL, treasury, cost accounting, and revenue recognition.
• Lead the preparation and publication of timely monthly and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with statutory laws, regulations, and internal controls.
• Act as the primary audit liaison and oversee the implementation of audit recommendations.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiencies.
• Mentor and develop local finance teams, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting, tax filings, and compliance processes.

What We’re Looking For

• Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• CPA or CMA qualification is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, with at least 10+ years in accounting and finance roles.
• Plantation experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax laws, and financial regulations.
• Expertise in financial statement preparation, general ledger functions, and month/year-end close processes.
• Proficiency in advanced MS Excel and accounting software.
• Exceptional leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
• Ability to identify and implement process improvements to strengthen financial controls.
