Group Accountant
Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

Are you an experienced accountant with a strong background in financial management and reporting? We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our clients dynamic team based in Port Moresby. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing organisation, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with international accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and consolidate mid-month, monthly, and quarterly management reports.
• Maintain the General Ledger, coordinating with AP, AR, and Bank Reconciliation teams to ensure proper processes.
• Handle month-end, payroll, and accrual journals.
• Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations for all GL accounts.
• Coordinate and resolve Group Intercompany variances on a monthly basis.
• Manage the Fixed Assets Register.
• Assist in preparing and implementing the annual budget.
• Support the Group Audit process and liaise with external accounting firms.
• Prepare compliance reports and ensure timely submission of tax returns.

What We’re Looking For

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) qualification.
• Proven experience in both an accounting firm and the industry, ideally with exposure to top-tier accounting firms during your career.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial statement preparation, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Familiarity with tax returns, bank reconciliations, and accounting software.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate within a team.
