Tax Technical Content Writer - FinTech
  
Smart Tax Search is excited to be partnering with a new client on a role that offers something a bit different for a curious Corporate Tax professional.
  
This successful VC backed software start-up has made strides in technology and growth over the last 7 years. Their product focuses on emerging and complex areas of Tax focusing on Cryto Tax and they have grown from 2 to 50 staff since inception. Due to success and growth, they are looking to hire an Australian Corporate Tax professional with strong writing skills and a desire to take their tax career in a different direction.
  
Role Overview:
  
We’re looking for a technical content writer who can turn complex tax regulations, product capabilities, and integration workflows into clear, persuasive content that builds trust with partners, regulators, and clients. You’ll own the words that win RFPs, land integrations, and explain our value in a rapidly evolving regulatory space. Working as part of the marketing team, you’ll work closely with our in-house tax lawyer (SME), partnerships team, and executive team.
  
What You’ll Own:

• ✍ RFP & due diligence responses (security, compliance, product, tax logic)
• ��1099-DA and regulatory education content (PDF guides, one-pagers)
• ��Partner pitch decks (SSO, TaxHub, cost basis reconciliation)
• ��Solution explainers (e.g. how our product handles missing cost basis, multi-wallet sync)
• ��Reusable content blocks for use across sales, onboarding, and partner docs
• ✅Work closely with our tax SME to interpret complex requirements and structure content accordingly

  
Who You Are:

• Fluent English writer with clear, structured, technical writing skills
• Experience writing tax/legal content OR experience in B2B SaaS, regtech or fintech,
• Able to turn bullets, notes, or a 5-minute Loom into polished content with minimal handholding,
• Proven ability writing for external audiences: partners, procurement teams, clients or regulators,
• Comfortable working async across time zones with SMEs and support staff,
• Adaptable nature - you’re happy to iterate fast, ship polished drafts, and own the comms end-to-end

  
Bonus Points For:

• Experience working on RFPs, enterprise sales decks, or security due diligence content
• Familiarity with crypto tax or regulatory frameworks (1099, CARF, OECD rules)
• Comfort formatting docs/slides yourself, or working with designers to do so

  
Location & Structure:

• ��Remote – open to candidates located anywhere in Australia
• ��Full-time, part-time (4 days a week) or contract negotiable depending on fit
• ��Reports directly to founder, collaborates with tax SME and Head of Marketing.

  
  
This is a unique opportunity for tax professionals interested in the FinTech space. They are fast moving, flexible, fun and no 2 days are the same. Many opportunities are available including growing a team, shaping the role how you see it and moving into other areas of interest. You can also be based anywhere in Australia and fully remote. There is also the opportunity to work from the office if preferred and are based in Sydney.
