Group Tax Accountant
  
We are delighted to be partnering with a market leading, Australian organisation in the Medical industry.
  
With beautiful offices in Sydney CBD, this company offers hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 days from home), a variety of interesting work, direct access to the business and decision makers as well as a supportive team environment.
  
Reporting to the Tax Manager and also, working on various projects with the Head of Tax, the key accountabilities of the role are as follows:  

• Assist in managing all aspects of tax compliance, including prepare/review, filing and reporting for the Group (including International and JVs). Includes:
• Own the Group FBT process which includes; prepare/review returns, including income tax, FBT and BAS returns.
• Prepare tax provision calculations for reporting purposes and assist in the preparation of year-end tax notes.
• Manage tax payments and tax accounts for the Group, including PAYG instalments and withholding tax.
• Provide tax advice on operational and business issues in relation to income tax, FBT, GST and employment taxes. Includes:
• Monitoring and communicating changes to tax laws and their impact on the Group.
• Managing tax risks in accordance with the Group’s Tax Governance Framework.
• Assist in implementing, maintaining and enhancing the end-to-end tax processes and procedures for the Group.
• Develop strong relationships with business stakeholders and liaise with external advisors in relation to tax compliance and consulting matters.

  
  
Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Attributes of the successful candidate:

• Approximately 3-5 years’ experience in an Australian Tax role, in a large corporate and/or professional services firm (such as Big 4 or top 10 mid-tier).
• Completed or currently studying a post graduate qualification such as the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) or Certified Public Accountants Australia (CPA Australia).
• Proven track record in tax compliance, tax accounting with experience in indirect tax such as FBT/GST.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively negotiate and communicate with all levels of management, advisors and external stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good working knowledge of applicable tax technology software (e.g. CCH Integrator, NTAA FBT or similar).
• Good understanding of tax-effect accounting.
• Willingness to learn and take on new areas of Tax.
• Self-motivated to work autonomously and manage their own workload.

We are looking for a professional with a strong employment taxes background who is looking to expand their skillset. This role offers a variety of tax accountabilities and on the job training from the Tax Manager and the Head of Tax.
