THE CLIENT
Our client is a globally respected equipment manufacturer with nearly 50 years of industry experience, known for innovative and niche hydraulic attachment technology and exceptional customer support. Their products solve real problems and deliver measurable value to construction and material processing operations worldwide.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Join a respected global equipment manufacturer as a Territory Account Manager and take full ownership of building and expanding our Northeast presence. This is a unique opportunity to shape a territory from the ground up, combining strategic dealer network development with direct customer engagement to drive measurable business growth.
You'll work with cutting-edge and niche hydraulic attachment technology that solves real problems in construction and material processing, giving you genuine competitive advantages that resonate once dealers and end-users understand the applications. With significant autonomy over your territory strategy and direct access to factory resources for support, you'll be positioned to make immediate impact and build something meaningful.
This role is ideal for entrepreneurial sales professionals who thrive on independence, enjoy the consultative aspects of dealer and customer development, and want clear accountability for their success. Strong performers who demonstrate results will be positioned for expanded territories and broader responsibilities as the organization grows.
We're looking for someone who understands that dealer development and territory building are measured in quarters, not weeks. This role requires patience, persistence, and strategic thinking. You'll be working in a competitive market where many territories are already established, but you'll have the tools, support, and product advantages to differentiate and win.
DUTIES
- Develop and manage a high-performing dealer network across the Northeast territory through continuous training, support, and relationship building
- Drive sales growth by strategically expanding the dealer base while deepening penetration with existing partners and identifying new market opportunities
- Build and maintain direct customer relationships at all levels, from end-users to C-suite executives, ensuring customer success is at the heart of everything you do
- Execute consultative, solution-oriented selling in a B2B environment, understanding customer needs and matching them with the right products and applications
- Coordinate with technical support teams to ensure dealers and customers receive exceptional post-sale service and ongoing support
- Proactively pursue territory expansion through strategic cold calling, networking, and business development activities
- Gather and communicate market intelligence and product feedback to inform manufacturer strategy and product development
- Maintain disciplined CRM practices and manage territory budget within established parameters while providing regular reporting and forecasting
REQUIREMENTS - Proven B2B sales success with demonstrated ability to build and manage customer relationships and consistently achieve sales targets
- Dealer network development experience - you've successfully recruited, trained, and managed dealer partnerships that deliver results
- Strong negotiation and relationship skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels
- Technology proficiency - experienced with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and social media platforms for business development
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Valid work authorization for the United States and willingness to travel approximately 50% throughout the Northeast region
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in construction, engineering, or manufacturing industries. Knowledge of construction machinery (excavators, loaders) and hydraulics - if you don't have this background, we'll provide comprehensive training
ATTRIBUTES The ideal candidate is energetic, motivated, honest, and puts customers at the heart of their approach - whether working from the office, attending customer events, or conducting site visits. You maintain rigorous professional standards, follow through on commitments, and view challenges as opportunities for creative problem-solving.
- Comfort working under pressure and adapting to dynamic market conditions
- Technical aptitude to speak credibly about construction equipment, attachments, or material handling applications and specifications
- Self-directed work ethic - you thrive by managing your own territory without daily oversight and maintain disciplined work habits
- Entrepreneurial mindset - proactive, goal-oriented, and eager to make a difference in growing the business
