Understanding the Program
This role sits within the Remote Australia Employment Service (RAES) program, a federally funded initiative delivered by ALPA in communities across Arnhem Land. You might have heard of the Work for the Dole or the Community Development Program (CDP). RAES is similar in purpose but introduces a more flexible, strengths-based approach to remote employment. It supports job seekers through skills development, mentoring, and tailored employment pathways, with a large focus on community-led priorities.
About the Role
- Lead and support a team of Operations Managers across remote communities.
- Ensure consistent and compliant delivery of RAES programs.
- Strengthen operational systems and reporting frameworks.
- Drive performance against KPIs and contractual obligations.
- Support social enterprise initiatives and income-generating projects.
- Foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
You’ll be the key link between site teams and central leadership, ensuring alignment with ALPA’s mission to improve health, quality of life, and economic development for our members.
What We’re Looking For - Proven experience in CDP roles (Site Manager or Operations Manager).
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in remote Indigenous communities.
- A qualification in community services or a related field.
- Familiarity with grant-funded program delivery and reporting.
