We’re on the lookout for a skilled and passionate Furniture Maker & Workshop Mentor to join our team in Nhulunbuy, on the stunning Gove Peninsula. This isn’t just a job - it’s a chance to create bespoke furniture while empowering Yolngu trainees through hands on mentorship in a community driven workshop.

What You’ll Be Doing
Leading and mentoring a team of Yolngu trainees in the workshop
Interpreting architectural and technical drawings to bring designs to life
Using a wide range of tools - from routers to hand finishers - to create high quality pieces
Managing timelines and collaborating with the broader team to deliver projects
Championing ALPA values and maintaining a safe, clean, and inspiring workspace
What You’ll Bring
Trade qualifications in Cabinetmaking, Joinery, Shopfitting, or Furniture Making
5+ years of hands on experience in furniture production and finishing
Proven leadership in a workshop setting
Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
OH&S White Card, NT Driver’s License (or ability to obtain), and willingness to travel
Confidence with Microsoft Office and workshop planning
