About the Role
Lead high-quality catering and hospitality services across North-East Arnhem Land operations, supporting current venues and future ventures. Drive service excellence, food safety, and culturally respectful practices through systems, training, and leadership.
Regular travel required. Experience or interest in working with First Nations communities is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and guide the operational effectiveness of Miyalk Kitchen (Galiwinku), Miyalk Café (Yirrkala) and Milingimbi Cafe plus future hospitality outlets and catering opportunities.
• Work with Remote Employment Manage and recruitment team for all onboarding, and professional development of hospitality staff across all sites.
• Develop and implement operational systems, policies, and procedures that align with national hospitality standards.
• Implement and oversee compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS requirements.
• Develop training resources and facilitate upskilling programs for local employees, with a focus on capacity building in remote communities.
• Drive consistent customer service excellence and quality assurance.
• Work with the ALPA Commercial Manager and Remote Employment Manager to build sustainable business models and provide strategic planning input for all hospitality projects.
• Work with project coordinators and site managers to engage with local community members to ensure cultural appropriateness and community involvement

About You

• Previous experience in a hospitality operations leadership role.
• Experience managing remote or culturally diverse teams.
• Proven ability to design and implement uniform operational standards across multiple venues.
• Relevant qualifications in hospitality management, or equivalent
• Understanding of food safety regulations, WHS, and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to train and mentor staff to build capacity and performance.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in business planning, budgeting, and reporting.
