Our client, a market leader in the beauty and FMCG space, is seeking a visionary and hands-on General Manager to join their vibrant team in South Melbourne. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the business, driving expansion both locally and globally.
 
About the Role
 
As General Manager, you will lead a talented team of six across marketing, operations, and sales, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture. You will be responsible for setting and executing the company’s strategic direction, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring the continued growth and success of the brand.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of six, providing clear direction, support, and professional development opportunities.
• Foster a positive, high-energy, and results-driven culture, ensuring the team is engaged and motivated.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and set clear KPIs to drive individual and team success.
• Act as a trusted leader and decision-maker, stepping in when the CEO is unavailable.

 
Strategic & Commercial Leadership

• Develop and execute the overarching business strategy, ensuring alignment with growth objectives.
• Oversee financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement in collaboration with the Operations Manager and Global Sales Manager.
• Drive key retail and client partnerships, leading negotiations, range reviews, and product launches.
• Maintain strong industry relationships, liaising with external agencies and retail partners to strengthen brand positioning.

 
Marketing & Growth

• Lead the Marketing Department, working closely with the marketing team (currently one other individual) to develop and execute campaigns.
• Own the marketing calendar, ensuring alignment with product launches, sales initiatives, and brand-building efforts.
• Oversee digital marketing efforts across Instagram, TikTok, and influencer collaborations, leading by example with a hands-on approach.
• Monitor and analyze campaign performance, providing data-driven insights to optimize results.

 
Operational Excellence & Compliance

• Ensure compliance across all business areas, identifying new opportunities for growth and innovation.
• Champion a fast-paced yet fun office culture, contributing to the company’s vision of becoming an Employer of Choice.

 
What We’re Looking For

• Proven Senior Leadership or General Management experience in a comparable industry.
• Strong team leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop a team of six at various levels.
• A strategic mindset with a hands-on, results-driven approach.
• Background in marketing, brand management, or commercial strategy is highly advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business decisions.
• Experience managing client and retailer relationships, including range reviews and product launches.
• A proactive, confident decision-maker who thrives in a high-growth environment.
