We are currently recruiting for a suitably experienced WHS Advisor to come on board and join our client in shaping the safety culture for their business. Our client is a successful Australian owned, QLD based business with brands and products in the transport solutions sector. They are experiencing a genuine period of growth and are seeking an experienced Workplace Health & Safety Advisor/WHS Advisor. In this role, you will work closely with leaders, supervisors and employees across the organisation to improve safety performance, strengthen governance, ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.  
  
THE OPPORTUNITY:

• Balance strong technical knowledge with a practical, people-focused approach.
• Partner with leaders and team members to strengthen and ensure a proactive and accountable safety culture.
• Review, maintain and continuously improve WHS systems, processes and governance frameworks.
• Deliver engaging inductions, toolbox talks, training and safety communications.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments and safety observations.
• Lead investigations into incidents, hazards, near misses, and effective corrective actions.
• Analyse WHS performance data and identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate return-to-work (RTW) and injury management activities.
• Support compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.

 
ALL ABOUT YOU:

• Be an integral part of the team delivering in your role in a confident, practical and people-focused manner.
• Previous experience in a similar role in Workplace Health & Safety or Occupational Health Safety is essential.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, compliance obligations and contemporary safety practices.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing and improving WHS systems, governance and compliance frameworks.
• Experience conducting investigations, audits, risk assessments and safety training.
• Return-to-work (RTW) and injury management experience.
• Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 management systems also highly regarded.
• Experience working in manufacturing, engineering, transport, construction or similar fields is desirable.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to build rapport quickly with other team members.
• Have a can-do attitude, with a proactive and collaborative approach.  

  
ROLE INFORMATION:

• This is a full-time permanent role based on site at our client’s headquarters in Brisbane.
• Ideally, you will commence each day on site and on the manufacturing floor; from there your day will involve a mix of on-site and office-based work, meetings, and tasks.
