Mary MacKillop Childcare North Queensland provides high-quality provision of care to families across the Diocese of Townsville, which stretches from Ingham in the North, Proserpine in the South, Mount Isa in the West and Palm Island to the East.

About the position
At Columba Kindergarten and Care, Charters Towers, we provide long day care for children aged 3–5 through a Queensland Government-approved Kindergarten program. As a hub facility, we also offer before and after school care and vacation care for children attending the school and families across the wider community.

Our centre is seeking a passionate and creative Coordinator to join our team on a fixed-term, full-time basis, providing leadership and support across the hub.

This position is 38 hours per week, with a variety of shifts between 7:00am and 5:30pm. The role will commence in November 2026 and continue through to January 2028.

You will join a supportive environment and will have the opportunity to manage and mentor a team of Educators while guiding the service development to meet local needs with the support from your Business Operations Consultant and other experts in their fields from Mary MacKillop Childcare NQ.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification 
• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
• Current First Aid Certificate Including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis or ability to obtain before commencement
• Understanding and knowledge of National Quality Framework and My Time Our Place Framework
• Passion and dedication to provide the highest standard of care for our children and families
