About the Role
We are seeking a Education & Inclusion Partner to join the team. This opportunity would suit a qualified teacher or experienced education and care professional who can work alongside educators to strengthen inclusive practice, build capability and support the delivery of creative, contemporary and effective programs for children.
The role is practical and service-focused. The successful applicant will mentor educators in their day-to-day practice, model effective strategies and translate professional knowledge into clear, realistic and sustainable actions.
The Education and Inclusion Partner works directly with services to strengthen educator capability, inclusive practice, program quality and outcomes for children.
The role supports services to:
- Identify and respond to children’s developmental, learning, behavioural and inclusion needs
- Implement contemporary, high-quality and inclusive pedagogy
- Strengthen active supervision, transitions, routines and learning environments
- Develop practical, strengths-based resources and strategies that respond to the needs of individual children and services
- Build educator capability through coaching, modelling, observation and constructive feedback
- Partner effectively with children, families, educators, schools, allied health professionals and other stakeholders
- Support the development and implementation of individual support plans and inclusion strategies
- Maintain accurate records and monitor the implementation and effectiveness of agreed strategies
- Contribute to ongoing quality improvement across program, practice and inclusion
The successful applicant must be comfortable working directly within services and confidently modelling effective practice alongside educators.
Regular travel to services across Townsville, Ingham, Mount Isa, Palm Island and Proserpine will be required.
What You Will Need to Succeed - A recognised teaching qualification, or a relevant qualification supported by substantial experience in Early Childhood Education and Care, Kindergarten, Outside School Hours Care or a related setting
- Experience coaching and mentoring is highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience implementing contemporary, high-quality and inclusive pedagogy
- Strong knowledge of child development, inclusion, behaviour support and emotional regulation
- Demonstrated ability to mentor educators through coaching, in-practice modelling, observation and feedback
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
- Effective negotiation, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills
- The confidence to provide clear, respectful and constructive professional feedback
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple services, cases, deadlines and competing priorities
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team
- Experience in an Outside School Hours Care or school-age care setting will be highly regarded
- A current driver licence and willingness to undertake regular regional travel
- A current paid Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one
- A satisfactory National Criminal History Check
The Person We Are Looking For You will be knowledgeable, practical and approachable, with the ability to build trust while maintaining clear professional expectations.
You will be comfortable working within complex situations and remain calm, organised and solutions-focused when supporting children, families and educators.
You will do more than identify concerns and recommend strategies. You will work alongside services to implement agreed actions, monitor progress, maintain accurate documentation and support sustained improvement in practice.
Key Benefits - Package of $130,000 to $142,000, including vehicle allowance, depending on qualifications and experience
