Mary MacKillop Childcare North Queensland provides high-quality provision of care to families across the Diocese of Townsville, which stretches from Ingham in the North, Proserpine in the South, Mount Isa in the West and Palm Island to the East. We have grown to include 6 Early Learning Centres, 9 Kindergartens and 14 Outside School Hours Care centres.

About the position
Good Shepherd OSHC, Rasmussen, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Coordinator to join our close-knit team. Based at Good Shepherd Catholic School, our service offers high-quality before and after school care, as well as vacation care for local families.

In this leadership role, you'll work alongside the Coordinator to support daily operations, lead engaging programs, and help shape our inclusive, child-led environment. It's a great opportunity for an experienced educator ready to take the next step and make a meaningful impact.

This position is available as permanent part-time or full-time (35–38 hours per week), with flexible work arrangements considered. To support staff wellbeing and minimise split shifts, Good Shepherd OSHC is transitioning to a dual Assistant Coordinator model.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education (or working towards) or equivalent (Education Support, studying Bachelor of Education or similar qualifications approved under ACECQA)
• Current Children Check (Blue Card)
• Current First Aid Certificate Including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis or ability to obtain before commencement
• Understanding and knowledge of National Quality Framework
• Ability to pass a national criminal history check
• Ability to learn new systems and child care management software
