Mary MacKillop Childcare North Queensland provides high-quality provision of care to families across the Diocese of Townsville, which stretches from Ingham in the North, Proserpine in the South, Mount Isa in the West and Palm Island to the East. We have grown to include 6 Early Learning Centres, 9 Kindergartens and 14 Outside School Hours Care centres.

About the position
MMCNQ is growing! We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Resourcing Officer in a newly created role to join our team. This vital role is responsible for coordinating urgent day-to-day shift fills and ensuring that all staffing needs are met while maintaining compliance with educator-to-child ratios. You will support managers and service leaders in scheduling staff, establishing efficient systems, and driving best practices to streamline processes.

The position is a fixed-term, part-time role for 12-months, offering a minimum of 30 hours per week Monday to Friday, with the potential for full-time hours (work hours are negotiable). It will commence as soon as practicable and is based at our Townsville office. This position reports directly to the Business and Finance Manager.

Duties include:

• Coordinate urgent and ad hoc shift fill to ensure compliance with educator-to-child ratios in accordance with regulations.
• Manage casual staff availabilities and allocate shifts based on service requirements.
• Collaborate with managers and service leaders to review and improve staff resourcing processes.
• Support service leaders with administrative tasks, including ensuring timesheets are completed on time.
• Coordinate agency staff bookings when MMCNQ staff are unavailable to meet demand.
• Assist in training staff on rostering and compliance processes.

What you'll need to succeed:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience using rostering platforms or systems.
• Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in the childcare industry.
• Relevant qualifications in children's services, education, or business administration (preferred).
• Knowledge of the Fair Work Act and Childcare Services Award provisions.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive, solution-focused mindset with excellent organisational skills.
