SSH Mining are seeking a practical, hands-on Exploration Geologist to support the delivery of a substantial RC and AC drilling campaign south of Kambalda.
The role will assist with maintaining the drilling schedule, coordinating field activities and helping deliver the planned drilling metres by the end of the year. It is well suited to someone who enjoys field-based exploration, takes ownership of their work and values being part of a small, supportive team where individual contributions are recognised.

The Opportunity
Working closely with management and drilling contractors, you will support the day-to-day delivery of the RC and AC drilling program while ensuring high-quality geological, sampling and operational data is collected.
The project is located in a semi-remote environment south of Kambalda and will suit someone who is comfortable working in the field, operating independently and contributing across a broad range of exploration activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day drilling activities and monitor contractor performance
• Assist with the delivery of the RC and AC drilling program
• Complete geological logging of RC chips and AC cuttings
• Manage sample collection, dispatch, QA/QC and geological data
• Assist with drill planning, scheduling and program tracking
• Maintain safe, organised and efficient field operations
• Support exploration targeting and resource growth activities
• Liaise with drilling contractors, field personnel and management
• Contribute across general field activities as required within a small team

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Geology or a related discipline
• Experience supporting exploration drilling programs, including planning, supervision and contractor coordination
• Practical experience logging RC chips and AC cuttings
• Strong understanding of sampling procedures, QA/QC and data accuracy
• Fieldwork experience, including geological mapping and remote-area exploration
• Strong commitment to safety and experience working in remote or rugged environments
• Competency with geological software, databases and GIS tools
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a small team
• Practical, adaptable and willing to assist across a range of field activities
